Admission Requirements
Applications are considered from students having a wide variety of educational backgrounds, such as business, liberal arts, engineering and the sciences. Those who are accepted into the program show strong evidence of academic ability, scholarly interests, and motivation to develop substantial research skills.

Applicants should provide the following;
1. Completed online application form
2. Pay online the admission processing fee.
3. Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate coursework, must be sent to PhD. Program Manager (address given below)
4. A report of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score from the Educational Testing Service. The University's GMAT code number is 5206. A minimum GMAT score of 600 and a 3.0 GPA in post-secondary education is expected. A report of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) can be substituted, and a minimum score expected is 1180 (verbal and quantitative only), but the average GRE for entering students is 1300; although the GMAT score is preferred. 5. International students must also submit an official report of their score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), from the Educational Testing Service. The minimum scores required are as follow: Paper Based (550), Computer Based (213) and Internet Based (80). The University’s TOEFL code to report the score is 5206 as well.
6. The University requires foreign applicants to furnish a detailed statement showing specific sources of financial support and the exact amount expected from each source. This form is known as the Declaration and Certification of Finances (DCF). You can find the DCF form at www.fiu.edu/ugs
7. The University will not issue a Visa Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) until an appropriate official at the institution has reviewed the financial statement and determined that the foreign applicant's sources of financial support are adequate to cover his total expenses for the period of time the student is seeking to enroll at the University.
8. A statement of purpose, not exceeding five typewritten, double-spaced pages,describing the applicant's educational and career goals and the specific relationship of the PhD. degree to the achievement of those goals.
9. Three Applicant Evaluations from academic sources (see Appendix B for a sample form);
